A Barbera that stands firmly in the ground with its “roots”.

“Leradici” is the name of the vineyard where the Barbera has firmly anchored its roots in the ground. With this Barbera they look to the past, at Mauro Molino, to the area where they were born and raised, to their roots… In this wine, this vineyard therefore reveals its true nature. The view of this Barbera vineyard is also enchanting. The Mauro Molino Barbera d’Asti “Leradici” undergoes no masking oak aging here, but is fermented purely in stainless steel and then bottled immediately. Everything in its purest form.

The Mauro Molino Barbera d’Asti “Leradici” is dark, lush, and rich, offering some dried fruit in the bouquet, along with some tar notes, a powdery earthy scent, and dried cardamom or eucalyptus. Sweet blackberries or candied cherries come through afterwards. It has a firm structure, power, and velvety tannins. A powerful Barbera that certainly pairs well with food. Due to its high acidity and low tannins, Barbera is versatile in the kitchen. Fatty dishes work well with wines with high acidity like Barbera. A beef stew with some Barbera mixed in? But a risotto with mushrooms and truffles also pairs well with a glass of Barbera. Pizza with mushrooms and salami is perfectly fine too, mind you!

    Leradici

The vineyard, which enjoys a privileged location, is situated in the hamlet of Burio, one of the most charming areas of Costigliole d’Asti and of the entire territory of Monferrato. The area is in fact of great historical importance and is named after the castle of Burio. It was built in the Middle Ages, and to be precise, in the 14th century.

In the wooded heart of the Barolo region (in Piedmont between Genoa and Turin) lies Azienda Agricola Molino. Here, Mauro Molino has been producing wines of exceptional quality since 1982 on land he inherited from his father and grandfather. He is now assisted by his son Matteo and daughter Martina. Half of the mere 12 hectares on their estate are reserved for Nebbiolo, destined for Barolo. From the remaining grapes, a white (!!) Barbera and Dolcetto are produced, and in slightly smaller quantities, Roero Arneis.
