    Alcohol-free, yes, delicious!

Opia Chardonnay is an organic, alcohol-free wine. The first one we subjected to a taste test is the Opia Chardonnay. Because we knew that this wine was made without fermentation, we were a little apprehensive that it might be a somewhat glorified grape juice, but nothing could be further from the truth. When we pour the Chardonnay, the beautiful, deep yellow color with a slightly green tint stands out. The wine smells of citrus fruits, exactly as it should. The nose reveals aromas of acacia flower and white peach combined with a hint of citrus and vanilla. The taste is fresh with a pleasant touch of acidity and a wonderfully long finish. Opia Chardonnay is a fine alcohol-free drink based on the Chardonnay. As for the taste, you needn't worry; this is much more than glorified grape juice. The flavor is well-balanced, fresh, and fruity with a light acidity. This wine is perfect as an aperitif, with fish or seafood, or on a sunny terrace. You can truly taste summer in your glass. Furthermore, knowing that this wine is entirely organically produced, you can enjoy your comforting glass without any worries.

    Opia

Opia is a brand of non-alcoholic wines from the Pierre Chavin winery. This winery was founded by Mathilde Boulachin and Fabien Gross. Fabien is responsible for the creation of the wines, while Mathilde handles the company's communication and marketing. Pierre Chavin does not actually exist; it is a name invented by the pair. Pierre, because it is the most common name in France, and Chavin because it rolls off the tongue and contains the word ‘Vin’.

They now produce thirty different alcohol-free wines, so there is still plenty of work to do to taste them all. The wines from the Opia series belong to Pierre Chavin’s ‘innovation’ range. To produce the Opia wines, the alcohol is not removed from an alcoholic wine; instead, a new process without fermentation is used for their production. It is the first series of wines to be produced in this way.

    Demeter certified

The name Opia represents, according to Pierre Chavin the union of two personified bodies, which are the earth and the sky. The merging of these two complementary elements symbolizes the life cycle: the vine takes its roots and draws strength from the soil of the nourishing earth, and its branches rise to the heavens, thereby representing the union of these two elements.
