With the Weingut Geil Chardonnay Bechtheimer S Trocken, you are truly bringing home something very special. A rare Chardonnay from the German region of Rheinhessen. Why rare? This Chardonnay is not made every year! The Bechtheimer S Trocken is produced only in the best vintages. And when you taste the wine, you can certainly compare it to a refined Burgundy! The wine has delicate vanilla notes with tropical orange and pineapple. Deliciously elegant and full-bodied with subtle oak tones and a smoky edge. Serve the wine with grilled fish or soft cheeses for the best food and wine pairing.
The Bechtsheimer S Trocken Chardonnay has delicate aromas of pineapple, almond, and orange. Toasted oak notes give the wine a slightly smoky edge, but above all, beautiful, rounded vanilla. Incredibly elegant. The perfect balance between fresh acidity, juicy pineapple, and rounded oak notes. A long, full finish with a delightful hint of almond bitterness. When drunk young, the wine is wonderfully fruity and fresh. As the wine ages, the rounder and earthier notes will come to the fore. This Chardonnay can be kept for at least 7 years after the vintage.
The vineyards of this 100% Chardonnay lie around the town of Bechtheim in the German Rheinhessen, where this grape feels completely at home. The soil consists of clay, limestone, loam, and loess, which is the perfect combination to achieve optimal ripeness. After the harvest, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented. The wine then ages in large 500-liter oak barrels, and a small portion ages in 225-liter oak barriques. This results in a beautifully balanced wine!
Weingut Geil is known for its very high-quality wines from the German Rheinhessen. In addition to the extremely popular white wines from Riesling and Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) they also produce an insane Spätburgunder and Frühburgunder. The Geil family's belief is to make affordable, high-quality wines with respect for nature and an individual approach per grape variety.
