Win-win Verdejo, delicious and alcohol-free

Finally, we have found a winery that makes delicious and flavorful non-alcoholic wine. In the glass, this Spanish non-alcoholic Kolonne Null Verdejo has a brilliant, shimmering light yellow color. On the palate, this white wine from Kolonne Null displays aromas of gooseberries and redcurrants, complemented by fresh green herbs, green peppers, and juniper. Thanks to the lively fruit acidity, the non-alcoholic Verdejo is impressively fresh and lively on the palate. Non-alcoholic wine made from the Verdejo grape, sourced from Bodegas Diez Siglos located in the north of Rueda. The vineyards here are situated 750 meters above sea level, ideal conditions for producing a fresh style of Verdejo. The gentlemen at Kolonne Null have subsequently removed the alcohol. A fresh, exotic wine, bright yellow with green hues. On the nose and palate, cheerful white flowers, but also banana and other tropical fruit. And with fine acidity. A wonderful alternative to an alcoholic Rueda.

This wine is at its best when well chilled at 8–10°C. Moreover, it pairs perfectly with a vegetable salad with beetroot, an asparagus salad with quinoa, or spaghetti with yogurt-mint pesto.

This alcohol-free Verdejo from Kolonne Null is a tribute to the Castilian lifestyle. My friend Harold Hamersma considers it perhaps the best alcohol-free white wine of the moment. This versatile and pleasant Verdejo is perfect for the terrace, the garden, the balcony, or on the boat. On top of that, it is also vegan and gluten-free.

Since its founding in 2009, winery Bodegas Diez Siglos has stood for grapes of incredible quality. Driven by a love for their land and for wine, the winemakers have made it their mission to keep alive the centuries-old heritage of one of Spain’s most exciting grape varieties: Verdejo. In co-production with Diez Siglos, Kolonne Null’s first, highly refreshing Verdejo was created.

Who or what is Kolonne Null?

The shared enthusiasm for wine and enjoyment, the surprise at the lack of high-quality, non-alcoholic beverages to pair with food, and the desire to create a product that fits a conscious yet refined and stylish lifestyle laid the foundation for Kolonne Null in 2018. Founders Philipp Rößle and Moritz Zyrewitz have been friends since their student days. They faced the challenge of convincing people with their new product. Until then, no one believed in high-quality, non-alcoholic wines; the market simply did not exist. By now, we know better…

Since then, they have probably built up Europe’s most specialized alcohol-free wine company. Their own wine laboratory is in constant contact with their partner winemakers and research institutions to regularly raise the bar of what is possible. They have evolved from newcomers to the sector to absolute market leaders.

With the development of our laboratory and various research partnerships, they understand the company's fine-tuning ever better, becoming more precise, targeted, and also more selective in the selection of our partners – along the entire value chain from the vine to the printed shipping box.
